Welcome to Mrs. Aceto's Class

Welcome to our class blog spot. I use this site as another means of communication with my students and parents.

It is my hope that you will find this site useful and informative. The main purpose is a place where you can ask questions that you didn't or couldn't in class. You can remain anonymous if you are embarrassed but it is easier to answer a question when I know who I am talking to. I will be checking the site more often when there is a test coming up or when there is a project due so that I can answer any last minute questions you might have. There may also be opportunities for extra credit. Only those who visit the blog will get this opportunity!

To avoid any inappropriate postings, all postings will be approved by me prior to publishing on the blog spot. Your post will not be immediately seen on the blog. Please be patient, I will publish as soon and as often as I can.

This is an "extra" service I provide for my students. Abuse of the site will result discontinuing this service for ALL students. It is expected that you will be respectful of me and of others.

I am looking forward to a great year!! Happy posting!

Mrs. Aceto

Kiran,
You were not marked down for any of the work you missed while you were out. However, you did receive a C on a 440 and you were a day late returning the class syllabus. There are not a lot of grades in the gradebook, it being so early in the year. With all the missed assignments I excused you for you have even fewer assignments to base a grade on. Therefore, even one grade can effect your total grade if it is low. As you get more assignments your grade should go up... So long as there aren't too many more C's and such. Don't worry... we can talk about it more in class or after school if you'd like.

Vicky,
Yes, there will other opportunities for extra credit. I won't let you all know ahead of time... you will just need to check the blog from time to time. I try to post them during the weekend so check on Saturday's and Sunday's. If I post one on a weekday, I will let you all know in class on that day. Deal?

Eden, I am sorry that I somehow missed replying to your post. But I want you to come see me so that we can plot out a plan to help you bring up your grade. I don't want everyone reading these posts to know your personal business. :)

Jazmine, your computer is showing you a "saved" page. All you need to do is hit "refresh" on your browser tool bar. If you use explorer as your search engine it should actually say "refresh." If you are using Safari it is an arrow going in a circle and if you are using Firefox it is two arrows going around in a circle. Try it out.

jazmine,
I don't know what to tell you... it is working... try using another web browser like netscape, safari, explorer, firefox... anything other thab what you are using. That way the page isn't in your web browser "cache" which is where the page memory is.

Otherwise, come see me in my office. Hopefully our internet will be working tomorrow. :) I wish I could help you... :( makes me sad.

The testing we are doing counts for 20% of your grade. You will be tested 2 times a semester on your push ups, crunches and mile. You get a grade every time you run your 440. All that gets put together and that determines only 20% of your grade. Now if the other 80% of your grade is an A then you shouldn't worry too much....

denita,
I am sorry that you left the project for the last minute. It was give to you almost 2 weeks ago.
Answering your questions:
Simply list that there is a textbook called "Fitness for Life" and loan clothes are for students who do not bring thier PE clothes to school. You lose a point (from your daily score) for every item you borrow.
Next time do not leave something until the last minute.

i didnt leave it to last minute i just never thought of these questions until a friend told me about them and wat happens when you lose too many points.

Denita,
I am sorry if I jumped to the wrong conclusions.. you would be amazed how many students are emailing me, IM'ing me, and posting questions for me with last minute "how do I do the project?" questions...
Again, sorry and I can't wait to see your project!

Mrs. Aceto

but you didnt answer my question. wat happens when you get too many loan clothes or tardy points. do you call home or something

At Monday, October 09, 2006 6:32:00 PM , Blogger Mrs. Aceto said...

Denita,
A teleparent is sent home when you have to borrow clothes and/or when you are tardy. You get a point per day for every day there is in a quarter and when you lose points for being tardy or for loan clothes they are subtracted from that total. That is your daily score which is 10% of your total grade.
