Get Active/Extra Credit Questions

I have had a lot of questions regarding problems with the getactivestayactive.com website. I do not run the site so problems need to be sent to them (pec@pecentral.org). If you are not able to get it to work, feel free to move to the paper form that I talked about in class. You can get credit for logs that you have already put in on the website.

NEW OPPORTUNITY!

You may think that you don't have to worry about your health now. However, you are setting up what kind of lifestyle you will lead. Will you be a couch potato when you get older? Or will you be playing sports and running marathons? Will you struggle with your weight? Squeezing into pants and having to lay down just to zip them up?

The best way to start working on or keep working on your health and fitness is to keep track of what you do on a daily or weekly basis. There is a new site that you can use that will help you. You will also have an opportunity to earn the President's Active Lifestyle Award (PALA). This is an award that the President's Challenge (The President of the United States) awards to students who are active 5 of 7 days for 6 consecutive weeks. How easy! All of you are already active 5 days a week since you have PE 5 days a week! If you miss a few days, no worries. You don't have to log on every day, you can go back up to 6 days and put in the information for those days.

Signing up is easy! Just click on the link on the right titled "Get Active" and create an account. You will need to choose our school and be sure to choose your PE period, that's it. And it's free to join!

Any student who acheives the President's Active Lifestyle Award will receive extra credit, their name in the daily annoucements AND Tuesday envelope weekly announcements.

Good Luck!
